not bad at all.

just 30 copies?
my opinion, u shouldnt limit the number of copies just yet.

Brendan Low - June 7, 2005 08:26 AM (GMT)
wow... looks great dude.... i like the look of cards everywhere...

u da man dude! All the best. Yeah, i dunno if 30 copies is enough coz it may be selling like hotcakes.... u'll never know. :P

But like Andrew said, he wanna make it exclusive and limited. when there is a limit, there is a urge to get one!

i think the limited edition thing works only when there is a strong marketing base
already set up.

i didnt study business so what i'm saying could be monkey poo.

MagicB,

Thanks for your kind words and compliments. ^_^ - It took me some time to design the site though it looks simple. Hee...hee.... :P

Rainking,

Yeah! Because I limit the book as I do not want to take risk of over printing the books or stocks. It's a huge costs actually of storing huge stocks. ^_^

It would be better to remain exclusives book though. :P

Thanks!

Best,
Andrew

Jeff Gan - June 7, 2005 10:51 AM (GMT)
i understand about not wanting to overstock.

but if it sells out fast, there's always second printing ;)

whatever your decision, u have my support bro. is "pasteboards galore" the title of the book?

zhuanan - June 7, 2005 12:28 PM (GMT)
Hi Andrew:

Since quite a number of us are interested in ur book (including me), Can u claify the following:

a) Shipping costs -

1) For Klang Valley (KL, PJ)
2) For Kuching
3) etc....

B) Payment method

1) Do you accept paypal?
2) Can u give us ur account no and which bank is this account maintained
with? I believe some of us have Maybank and with ur account no known, it
would be easier to do Maybank Internet Banking

c) Ordering

1) When will you start to take order?
2) Can we pre-order?
3) How will you take order? Do you reserve copies when someone orders
although monies have not arrived? Or do you take orders only when you
have receive the monies/when monies are cleared?

I think a lot of us are interested to know yor....don't wanna miss this opportunity man... :P

Also, just a suggestion, may be you would like to reserve/print certain number of copies/have certain copies in PDf format for overseas order...

The reason being that you would be able to get feedback from their review and I think this would help to improve the effects and perhaps the layout of the book, if any... :P

Hi Rainking,

Thanks a lot bro, I am greatly appreciate it. ^_^ - Yes, the name of the book is "Pasteboard Galore". :P

Hi Zhuanan,

Thanks for your interest. Unfortunately, at the moment, I can't inform you guys about the shipping costs. Because I am afraid that the shipping costs would be varied from time to time.

If I would accept payment, I would prefer "Bank draft" because this mode of payment is the most easiest which means when your bank draft arrive, and I can get the money. ^_^ - I am sorry as due to security reasons, I would not to release my bank account number, really sorry for that. ;)

Yes, I will inform you guys when I will accept pre-order as it's unfair to take you guys money meanwhile my book is still not complete yet. ^_^ - I only will take pre-orders when my book send to the printers.

I will take pre-orders maybe around July or August 2005, as currently I have some projects still going on. ^_^

When I accept your bank draft, of course I will reserve a copy for you. I would number each of the book. Unless if you are really want me to reserve the book, yes, I can hold one for you. ^_^

Hmmm..... Maybe I would sell to overseas if they interested, but by no means I will not publish them in .pdf format. :P

Currently, there are 2 overseas guys review my book and hopefully their review will soonly arrive into my inbox.

Thanks!

Cheers,
Andrew

Hey I am an overseas guy too and wouldnt mind reviewing your book :P

shan - June 10, 2005 03:13 PM (GMT)
Great job man!!!

Make sure you print something like "1st Edition" on the first run of 30 books, so I can buy 29 of them and sell them on eBay when you're famous ^_^

Anywayz, jokes aside, Kudos to Andrew! Are the sleights required difficult?? Just asking coz, well, to be honest, I can't do a double lift without the deck of cards falling all over the floor <_<

Regards,
Shan

Sigh..i always discover things late..now only i saw this topic..hey andrew u r great..coming out book! I'm sure it's not easy..u do it all by urself? salute la..it's already on my buying list hehe..great work!

Andrew Loh - July 12, 2005 01:44 AM (GMT)
Sorry guys for the late reply, things preety hectic for me recently. :(

Yes, I would like to say thanks a lot of your interest guys. ^_^

Shan & Darren,

I would say in my this book, it's suitable to intermediate card magician. Sleights like Elmsley & Jordan Count, Ascanio Spread, False Shuffle, Vernon Depth Illusion, etc. Most the effects are practical and not difficult to perform. A lot of my effects are based on variations and some improvement. ^_^

There are quite a number of sandwich card effects that I have came up with and combined with other classics in the 80's to make the effects more stronger. For instance, Dr. Daley's Last Trick, Marlo's Oil and Water routines, Duffie & Robertson's Flip Switch, and many more. ^_^

Of course, some of the card sleights I can't explain in depths as I think you understand why I am not entitle to do so. But I will just briefly explain the respective card sleights.

I have sent some of my card effects to top names in magic, yes, have positive reviews but I just need to seek their permission first before I add their reviews at my site. ;)

Anyway, thanks again guys for your supports. ^_^

All the best,
Andrew
