Darwin Ortiz was quite entertaining in this DVD series.
I was told he was quite a boring person in his other series....
However, this is his favourite line..almost in every volume of this series, he'll say, "Hello my name is Darwin Ortiz, and now I'll demonstrate why you should never play cards with a magician."
That is like his opening line for almost all of the volumes....lolz..
Nevertheless, his effects and presentations are particularly well constructed...and in the explanations routine, you can indirectly see his psychological/misdirection thinking which is quite up there...
If i'm not mistaken, volume 3 deals mostly with a memorized stack...He doesn't teach you the stack though. You need to learn it yourself, perhaps the Tamariz stack from the book "Mnemonica", or something....
Among the 4 volumes, my 2 favourite effects are his 'Ultimate oil & water', which is very similar to the one Guy Hollingworth does as well, but Ortiz's presentation and final climax makes it a lot better IMHO....and the other trick is a fusion trick, where 2 signed cards are fused into 1...He's got some card to pocket routines, gambling demonstrations (of course) in this DVDs too.
I think the final trick of the final DVD has a performance only poker routine which is really, really amazing. You may work it out after analyzing it, but it'll fool u the first time....
Perhaps I'll get his Scams & Fantasies book one day! :)
