Title: Smokes And Mirros
Description: John Bannon

I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Bannon, and my first experience of his material are via the impossibilia and smokes and mirrors videos. All of which demonstrate his ability to produce amazing effects with a minimal moves. impossibilia escapes me, but if you're interested in magic with a variety of close up objects, might be worth checking out. As for smokes and mirrors, I find a number of sleights I tend to use today all came from that video. favourite effects that come to mind: a triumph effect, tattoo you )signature peeled of a card as well as his eight ball card trick. His new book has just also been a hit, perhaps eryanic wouldn't mind sharing his thoughts on it =)

I managed to get a copy of his book Smoke and Mirrors and I can say its a really great book.
3 of his effects have already been added into my repertoire. Many of the effects in the book are very commercial and lots of audience participation.

Are most of his effects like that? Cus if they involve many people (by many I mean 2-4 or 5), I really want to check it out.

The book is O.O.P. Maybe you can check out the video. Not sure how much of the effects are inside though.
Not many of the effects utilise more than 2 members of the audience.
However many of them requires a member of the audience. So the effects are pretty interactive.

Oh man, sadly I missed out this valuable book in my collections. But, in magiccafe, I heard that maybe Richard Kaufman or Bannon will reprint his Smoke and Mirrors books again due to the high demand of this book. ^_^

This book pops up regularly on Genii or magic cafe 'books for sale/trade' section...or on Ebay at times too...
If you do not have the book, there is a DVD of it...but not all tricks from the book is included in the DVD...

Hi Eric,
Nice to hear from you. Yes, I am not really like DVD as in DVD, normally the effects from books they teach in DVD is not complete. That's why I am not really like DVDs and I prefer books, DVD also costly as well. ^_^
I like 1st hand book, though I know they selling in ebay and etc, not interested in 2nd hand item. :(
