Hello guys (and girls) :) How are you all doing today?

This topic is in regard to MMF Chapter (meaning regional) meetings. As those who came to the last meeting know, it is really great having a magic get together and chill. We also took the time to talk about whatever projects and plans, such as Baalan's TV production (!!). This opportunity also allows beginers (such as myself) to get exposed more to cool tricks first hand. Therefore, with that in mind, let me introduce to you guys several things I had in mind:

Chapter Meet Ups

Malaysia is big, and unlike our Singaporean counterparts, we are divided by states, thus making it sort of unfeasible to go to KL for a 3-4 hours meeting when you live in, say, JB. So I thought we could do this regionally, and do it in monthly basis (and if you guys are so eager, you can even do it everyday or something :D). On another thread, I saw Kenningst enthusiasm when he thought the meet ups could be done more often, and that's good as long as the schedule is compatible with everyone else.

So with that in mind, we should have Melaka, KL, and JB Chapters as of now (am I missing anything? Let me know :)). And this follows up to our plan of the year!

Annual Meet Up

As a gesture of our deep affectionate love to Eryanic, I firmly believe we should have this December meet up with everybody from MMF. Indeed it's still a long time to come, but nothing is wrong with overpreparedness ;) After all, it's just once a year and it's in December, the festive holiday month, so I thought we all could come out and go nuts together! I would propose the meeting to be in KL, but that doesn't mean it closes any option for any other place (say, Melaka? It's not too far after all).

So what do you guys think? Let us all know in this thread :)

Yeah, i agree with u there should be regional meetings. I think minimum should be monthly meeting as u know 1 month is 4 weeks which is abt 30days.. long time rite?

haha... end of year meeting in MELAKA? really? hehe why not? lol.. :)

But seriously i mean there's only 3 dudes in melaka (MMF members) that does magic and there's so many of u all in KL... so i dunno if all of u agree or not.

I think if big meet ups like for annual ones... prob KL would be best since most of u are there.

But as for other smaller gatherings, MELAKA will be great. How abt one of the montly meeting u guys come down to Melaka to jam? We can go do street magic at Tourist sites such as Jonker street there or at the stud/red house (red building) or at the A Famosa Fort area. Melaka audience needs to get IMPACTED with MAGIC :)

seriously, i think Aerox already formed the East Malaysian group
and KL group looks pretty solid, hope we can sustain the momentum...
malacca group consisting of Brendan and andrew has been on-going steadily for a while...

Anyway, yeah, I agree that we have the 'big' gatherings at KL. Got more place to hang out after we're done with magic..hehe

And being a greedy bastard, I suggest that after the big gathering in KL in december, we have the January monthly meeting in Sarawak! HAHA

but seriously, i'll be happy if i manage to attend just the ONE meeting in KL end of this year....

Ya i surely second the idea. Let's do it on a monthly basis. I hav a feeling that MMF will go very far in the future and this will be a well known club, and probably the strongest magicians society in M'sia?hehe. So many great guys in it. Lookin forward to meeting u all again! :)

i think that eventually, we could one day turn the fellowship into a valid registered club. it'd be great to have something like that in the future. we're still young, so i guess we have all the time in the world.

When i 1st approach him to start a sister site of SMC for malaysia, he was quite worried about whether it will work out. But see how great this community is growing and all the activites that you guys are coming up with. Fantastic job all of you! Well done :)

I have been busy over at SMC as we are nearing our 1st year anniversary and we are making some major upgrading and activity planning. But as soon as that is done I will be looking into putting in more things for MMF, with more features and more activities faciliation tools! :)
Maybe we can even explore the possiblity of an "inter-straits" meeting of MMF members and SMC members at the end of year? That would be so much fun! :!!:

Its been awhile already since u last posted here on MMF. YEah, this forum rocks man... u know why?... its not because of me... its because of the members here.... they rock man.

Malaysia b4 this hadnt got a Magic Forum (not that i know of).

THe forum did started slow when it first began. Afoi was my first member :P. but we hung in there man, slowly recruiting people from magic cafe etc. Then andrew came along... he posted heaps.... has great knowledge when comes to card magic. Then slowly the rest of the team came in .... and started contributing towards the forum. I must say a BIG thank you to everyone here in this forum.
U guys are great! Keep up the Awesome work.

THese guys have big dreams and i fully support them all the way. GUys, Malaysia boleh and we can take this fellowship to the next level.

I guess most of us will be meeting up this fri and sat so that wil surely bring us closer and be close pals not only in magic but everything. I cant wait to meet all of them.

Again, this forum will not survive if not because of u guys! so yeah well done dudes. Keep it up!

i think this year end's idea is great. i don't really mind if its in Malacca or in KL but i prefer in Malacca cause its going to be like a road trip to me cum holidays. I am voting for Malacca!!

I propose we go for a 3 days 2 night trip (fri to sun) and i don't mind doing the planning and all for you guys on what to do, when and where and all...

I think we should start holding regular chapter meetings and plan for the annual gathering.no offence aloy but about the inter straits thinging, i think we should hold it first. might wanna start to learn to walk before we think about running.

can all the active MMFs start pouring out idea on where to have the annual meeting? currently the only idea out is:-

1) KL
2) Malacca

after that we will start voting and then decide on where to have. have to get something going ma... I AM REALLY EXCITED!!!!

Afterall, if you guys are meeting in malacca or KL, there's a possibility that some SMC people can go for a holiday trip together to these location and we can all session together. It's a non-issue :)

Abt inter straits thing, its a cool idea. maybe we can think abt that. it might be too early now to have it but who know end of year we might have more members etc or sumthing. If not end of year also next year also can. No hurry.

ok, besides MELAKA or KL, where else? How abt somewhere none of us been b4? lol... somewhere in msia? lol... so it will be more ROAD TRIP for all of us. lol...

I would like to say 'thank you' a lot to you as if you never sent me email of informing to join this MMF forum, I think until today I am still a 'katak di bawah tempurung'. I just get to know overseas magicians but not fun as difficult to meet them face to face. ^_^ - Have to travel long distance!! B)

I once heard that the Majalah 3 which last time back to 4 years ago, our local media perceived us our magic as in a still 'below par', and I don't think this is true, we MUST show the world that Malaysia is now gaining the momentum to achieve more better magic in the near future. As Brendan said "Malaysia Boleh". We all can achieve this in the near future.

I don't know guys but my vision is try to achieve something like, I have a VCD where it was about Hank Lee VCD, I saw there are many magicians gathering in a place, STRICTLY magicians and also sellers as well, many of them have their own booth of promoting their magic stuffs, selling their stuffs, performances, conventions, magic sesseions,etc in 3 days. I just say "Wow, man, if this kind of event can hold within our MMF & SMC magic community, this is sure ROCKS man!!!"

sat morning arr? after a party at nouvo the night b4 and u want to meet in the morning? i was thinking at noon time cause i will have to drive 1 hour home after the party and wake up the next morning and then drive 1 hour back. actually... i don't really mind... <_<

gimme a time and place. can someone make a decision fast cause its already wednesday and we don't wanna have last minute arrangements...

i think most prob we go back to melaka on sat. i dunno wat time the bus leave kl. is it like every half hour? that's wat they have in melaka.

andrew, maybe we can take latest latest 5pm bus la. that should be more that enough time to jam.

we prob can meet like at 11am somewhere near magic ring and then visit magic ring, lunch and then jam all the way. i mean common we more than 3 hours to mingle around. thats for sure. wat u guys think?

i can do 11 but magic ring opens only at 12.30pm. maybe we can meet up at like 11am at ground floor startbucks at the main entrance and then makan lunch and then magic ring??
