Title: Slow Delivery Service

ChongWei - July 4, 2005 07:28 AM (GMT)
Guys, just to inform you all that, there might be delays for all delivery oversea. Me and my friend had experienced slow delivery. its been 3 weeks, and all my stuff is not here yet. Only one from UK reaches today. the rest. STILL remain mystery. I've tried to track them. But its like... the journey to the west. SOOOOO many trouble.. have to go thru SOOOOO many stupid people.

Anyway, another friend of mine who purchased book thru amazon.com 3 weeks ago havent received his stuff yet. Are we the only one who have such delay ?

ChongWei - July 4, 2005 07:58 AM (GMT)

zhuanan - August 2, 2005 01:15 PM (GMT)
I have experienced instances where the parcel arrived 2 months after the order date, although I ordered via Airmail, which should take about 1 weeks.

What we can do now is:

1) Request for refund; or
2) Wait

^_^

Eric Liew - August 2, 2005 03:28 PM (GMT)
yeah, i'm still waiting for some magazines that dam0n and I bought from Patrik Kuffs.
has been bout 1 week plus?? coming to 2 weeks

Andrew Loh - August 3, 2005 12:34 AM (GMT)
Me too. Order 2 books but already 2 weeks, no news from them.

Andrew

isaac - August 3, 2005 08:45 AM (GMT)
magicdepot guy is so frenly n efficient b4 i make my payment

but after i make my payment
he ignore my mails n just dun bother to answer my question

i hate that kind of service

:(

Jeff Gan - August 3, 2005 08:50 AM (GMT)
isaac,

maybe u could find out what courier company he used, call them and ask them where it is. maybe it is stuck in customs. Find out the shipping order number or something like that....

as it is, u are doing us a big favor by letting us know about this unresponsible on-line seller.

Hope your stuff arrive soon.

ChongWei - August 3, 2005 09:04 AM (GMT)
based on my previous experience, without any reference number/tracking number, its impossible for u to even track the item. There's hundreds of consignment stuck in the great "pejabat kastam malaysia" everyday. prepare for the stupid voice with nasty attitude when you call up to acquire your csgn there..

hope it will arrive soon.. all the best..

jackliw - August 3, 2005 03:38 PM (GMT)
yaya....i also waiting my stuff from MAGICDEPOT, 7 weeks oledi, siao liao!!!!!

isaac - August 3, 2005 04:47 PM (GMT)
i hate it
but i got to do it

i used Paypal to do my transaction
if the seller didnt give reply to email n goods does not arrive
I can send a complain report to paypal
n they will refund to me after verifying

but magicdepot might get band from using paypal system and will b blacklisted

to my fellow magician .. shud i do that ?
:(

It seems that there's a problem with the posts from overseas.

Ive got threee cases now and im really not happy abt it.

1) my fren post me a parcel of cards etc etc from spore and its been 3 months already and i have not received. I beleive that its been stolen or lost in the mail. How can such thing happen!

2) A fren made me delights and send to me. i received it but the envelope was torn open and resealed in a clear bag. the delight instructions are inside but the delight TT were not there!!!

3 Another fren also send me some stuff in an envelope, 3 times and none of them reached me.

Do the authorities have the right to open up our envelopes or parcels just as they want? And if they were to take some things out are they to tell us abt it? Because of this i really dont trust our malaysian post service.

Guys, u all seem to be waiting for ya stuff too but i dunno is it the overseas post people that is holding up the delivery or is it our msian people.

Sigh!
Brendan

I don't know... things haven'e been too pretty with me either. As for your question B, the authorities indeed have the right to open up parcels and stuff IF there's anything suspicious or any hints to security problem. The bullshit is how they decide whether something is a security breach or not.

I'm waiting for a set of DVDs from a friend in the States. Let's see if they reach here.

Canbeef - August 4, 2005 06:10 AM (GMT)
Well,

I always order from Magic Depot and i have absolutely no problems. Aaron Smith always deliver my things on time. It's only the Malaysian custom side that might be slowing things down. Until today, i still keep in touch with Aaron. When my stuff of USD50 bucks arrive the postage cost was almost like USD20. That's like saving another Tiger deck, maybe even two. If you're frustrated, i think you shud do something bout it. Afterall, it's your consumer's rights to make noise. However, just wanna share my testimonial with ya'll that Aaron Smith and the Magic Depot have never let me down.

yes..they can.. some of my parcels, when reach me, its been opened and resealed. They'll re-sealed the parcels and indicate that its been opened for checking. I believe its not just .my , everywhere , if they "think" your parcels is suspicious, they might open for inspection. Problem is, they might have problem of "thinking" ..

other than the 3+ weeks slow delivery services i had previously, now, everything back to normal again. good luck to everyone who do online purchase.

Yes, they do. They are not allow to take anything from the pracel or envelope. If they want to confiscate the item, no matter how, they will inform you to come and meet with them first.

Everytime, I purchase my stuff online, I'll make sure that the parcel is registered. Which means there is a tracking number for the parcel. If lost the insurant company will pay for it. Obviously, it's more costly than the normal airmail.

isaac - August 4, 2005 09:51 AM (GMT)
I do heard bout magic depot reputation is good
But he really did not reply my mails

They even open my card guard and i can see scratches on my card guard
They do have the right, but i just feel not nice to let them see the secret

And like my mum said: Aiyo son, out there the word big big magic depot or magic watever, human sure curious open and see see. Esp in Malaysia

I am confused and sad
cos as a student
the 100usd is reali my hard earn money
is my part time n i save for some time to purchase it

:( :( :(

ChongWei - August 4, 2005 09:51 AM (GMT)
I guess the money i spend in shipping is more than the value of the stuff i get.. the shipping is killing.. if +insurance +first priority. looking forward for anyone to shop together next time, to bear the shipping cost together. But, the bigger the parcel is, chances for T.H.E.M to open and check is high..

i gotta agree with that....sigh. :(

i hope Customs dont do a Vanishing act on the stuff i bought from maxello's.
(1st time buying magic on-line) Those of u who know me know the dislike i have for buying on-line...

Eric Liew - August 6, 2005 01:50 PM (GMT)
Any news on the slow delivery service?
Has anyone received their parcels yet?

Samuel Chong - August 7, 2005 12:48 AM (GMT)
>> but i just feel not nice to let them see the secret
Even they, see they don't know what is it because they don't know what are they look for. They won't even play your DVD/VHS and watch unless they are really boring....LOL

A1Magicalmedia's, Meir Yedid's and Magic Pro Shop services are very good and fast. It often takes less than 10 days for them to have your parcel to arrive. I bought some stuff 3 years back from Meir Yedid that cost me more than RM1400 yet the custom didn't charge me for any taxes and the parcel arrive right in front of my door step. Weird right!!!!

Rainking,
>> I hope Customs dont do a Vanishing act
Hey man....They really do. Sometimes they vanish it because they wanna confiscate it but sometime they just don't understand how they vanish it. But I hope that you tak akan kena....

Andrew Loh - August 7, 2005 03:22 PM (GMT)
That's the thing or risk involve here. Normally I order a lot of books, the customs surely open up my parcel for checking, I think sometimes they also flipping my books, I am actually don't like that because for me, the things belong to me and I am the owner, I should touch the books first before other people do.

But no choice! -_-

Andrew

Andrew Loh - August 12, 2005 04:29 AM (GMT)
Wow, just received my books today, looking forward to read them. :P

Order from Penguin people… I received all the packages in just 7 to 14 days every single time for the past 2 years + no missing items.

Andrew Loh - August 14, 2005 01:44 PM (GMT)
Hi guys,

Did you guys ever experienced that the postman threw your parcel even though the postman knows that you were at home????

I hate the way the postman handled things, it's such no manners to throw people's things.

Luckily my items are books, if it's a magic tricks or DVDs, must be damaged by his actions.

Andrew

dam0n - August 14, 2005 02:54 PM (GMT)
andrew> wht books did u receive?

isaac - August 16, 2005 01:21 PM (GMT)
2months
no respone from any ppl
can die
:(

zhuanan - August 16, 2005 01:48 PM (GMT)
I sincerely feel that these situations are, to a very large, extent, attributable to our porr mailing service or the inspection from the custom...

Whenever there is any delay, the response from the magic dealer has always been that it is because of poor mailing service here...or that the items are still in transit (i.e. with custom)...

What we can do is still wait.... "Ming Tien Hui Geng Hao!" - if u understand Mandarin.... "Tomorrow will always be a better day"....and looking this situation from our point of view, isn't it telling us that the day where we will receive our parcel is getting nearer and nearer....? :P

Cheer up guys....I am sure the parcel will somehow reach our doorstep one day...it is getting nearer and nearer now....even if (Touch wood ya....) the parcel is lost, or kena telan by the hungry shark...."Khesera sera"...."What will be...will be"......what we can do is to take extra steps to ensure that we get a better magic dealer or better mode of shipment la.....

Andrew Loh - August 21, 2005 04:02 PM (GMT)
Yes, especially those using CHEQUE to send to the seller will take some time plus, they have to bank in the CHEQUE, waiting for clearing, and then send to you takes about 1 week+, that a total of 3 weeks+ to wait for the parcel to arrive. :(

Western Union is the fastest way to pay, but the service charge WILL KILL you flat. :ph43r:

Andrew

jackliw - August 23, 2005 12:59 PM (GMT)
