I just like to share my opinion after reading abt Devo.

if im not mistaken, devo started off doing magic. but then later fell in love with cards more and more that he started creating some unique routines and flourishes and then thought wow... this is really cool and thus called it XCM. XCM or flourishes to me is much harder than magic in terms of skills and deck handling. most flourishes can do magic but not all magicians can flourish. i dunno.

to answer ya question rainking, devo ban his members and staff not to say anything to do with magic because he wanted his site to be purely XCM only. He want magic and XCM to be separated. to me I think its all abt individuals. I love XCM or flourishes a lot...but magic was the one that slowly got me into flourishes.

i mean started off with magic... crazy over magic. at that time i heard and seen flourishes b4.... but i always told myself crap man.. i can never to that kinda stuff. so i just did magic and more card magic but oneday told myself to try XCM and flourish again. Kev's tutes were the first flourish i learnt and then later got CTG and then started going crazy over it. i got addicted to cards man. suddenly had more passion for XCM than magic.

Right now... im still crazy over flourishes. I just find it so nice to watch cards spinning and turning here and there.. flourish is really cool. I know that magic hits laymen right in the eye and that laymen like magic coz its got a suprise ending and its got an effect at the end. its easier to impress them with magic than flourish. only magicians are impress with flourish coz they know how hard and how much practice it takes. That's why i never give up magic, even though i told myself i will specialise in card magic. I still do enjoy doing magic a lot and have a few great routines that never fail to stun laymen. But flourish is just too hard to neglect. further more, now having a digicam and a tripod, i think im gonna get more and more crazy lol. haha

I hope there'll be more flourishers in msia so can jam together.

Few days ago, I saw a website with a pic taken from newspaper of Devo performing magic to little children...and the creator of the site was bashing Devo for being a hypocrite for doing magic...

i start off magic about 1 year n half then i got my 1st flourish video - showoff 2 by tudor - and cant stop practising since then.. i was quite steady with a deck of cards doing magic but whenever i see flourish demo i was like 'wish i can do those thing.. sighs'.. b4 showoff 2, all i can do were things like illogical cut, butterfly cut, hot shot, fans, n some other easy cuts n i wasnt vry happy. i feel theres something i have to do n i decided to put all my effort into flourish. after i master most of the moves in showoff 2 by tudor - i went n bought showoff with cards n was vry vry dissapointed (u know the reason).. but i still get to learn some crap moves from it.. i didnt wanna spend my money on dvds so i keep on watching countless flourish demos n learn from it, its not the easiest thing to by learning this way but i have to.. n i was surprise i learnt the king cobra buy watching the demo again n again ;) i just got the new generation extreme n system.. practise all day long nonstop. so magic vs xcm?? i would go for xcm but it just somehow doesnt impress layman that much than magic (this always bothers my mind).. layman rather say 'hmm.. vry cool way to play with cards. i dont know what you are doing but it looks vry nice tho..' than 'omg!! how did u do that?!'.. so any1 here pls let me know why we still doing flourish.. i spend all my time on flourish n theres nothing can stop me now ;) have a nice day everyone :) ciao..

haha zhe ming, looks like u and me are kinda in the same boat man. i too am addicted to flourishes! its a natural instinct to grab the deck of cards and start flourishing with it. hehe...

i beleive u would go v far in flourish if u are persistent and consistent with ya practicies. im looking forward for ya first flourish video bro. im sure it gonna rock.

the NEW Gen Xtreme and SYSTEM would surely make u busy for a long time.

to say whether im a flourisher or magician, i would say im a cardician lol... coz cards are my main source for magic. lol... but i admit i spend almost 95% on flourish than magic/entertainment these days. it just depends if i have a crowd to perform to or not. :)
