Title: Producing Quality Cards In Msia
Description: Will that be possible?

Brendan Low - July 29, 2005 10:36 AM (GMT)
Everyone knows the best cards to get is those USPCs.

How abt we have our very own MYPCs? Malaysian Playing Cards Co. lol...

Actually, im serious... will that be possible? We make good quality cards (AC, linoid finish etc) with awesome back designs.

Anyone here have contacts with local card manufacturers? Its just a thought and maybe oneday it will be a reality :P. hehe... will be great though.. what u guys think?

Good idea...worth trying Brendan...but I think the manufacturer would first think whether there is demand for these quality cards... ^_^

Brendan Low - July 30, 2005 12:32 AM (GMT)
hey guys, yeah it may be a bit far off but i think we could spark up a demand man.

besides, i dont think only magicians or flourishers will buy these good quality msian cards, even laymen or gamblers would also be interested. who doesnt want good quality cards?

at the moment, msian cards are crappy. i dont think it will cost so much just to add a air cushion/liniod finish on them.

how much they normal msian cards selling for in msia? RM1-2max? perhaps if they can make good quality ones, maybe can be RM3-5? i dunnoo.. i for me i would surely buy it.

also we can have so many back designs...., special designs, custom made designs, malaysian most wanted people, MMF playing cards (hehe), i dunno... it will just be great if there is a card machine that we can just custom design the back designs and then select wat kinda finish we want and then hit enter.... and the deck is out.

well.... i think we should think outside the box.... and be creative.... anyone know of this technology/ contact person etc etc?

normal quality malaysian cards are about RM 2.60 - RM 3.00

there are cheaper of course, but the cards are real crappy.

honestly, malaysians dont care about what cards they use to gamble. They dont care whether its one way design, 2 way, air cusion or even quality or etc. as long as they can gamble, they happy. Thats why i think u dont see Jaws in the market anymore. There is however imitation brands out there called Jaws II, (seriously)

Brendan Low - July 30, 2005 01:43 AM (GMT)
Yeah, i think i got Jaws 1 and Jaws 2.

I think there's various types of Jaw playing cards. Most of them are plastic coated type. I dont like.

If not mistaken I think ive seen and used Jaws 2 (long time ago), its paper and its hard.... and it feels like alladins. Kinda good for cuts... but of course cant fan.

Rainking, i know wat u mean... people buy cards for gambling dont really care the quality.... but ive got an uncle (family fren) who purposely buy dozens of alladins (which cost him abt RM9-10) from dunno vietnam or thai, and he use them for gambling, playing poker :).

like i mentioned last time, i got a whole stack of used Alladins now :) haha... they are great for cuts... and i like the brightness of their colour. Blue and red colour bikes are not as vibrant as they are on Alladins.

Alladins last longer than bikes... more durable.... u just gotta apply some fanning powder on them once in awhile.... :)

Its ok if Malaysia dont have the technology to produce AC cards, but if they can do the quality something like alladins, it think its a good buy already :)

i wonder if AC , L.Finish is patented technology ?

Peter - July 31, 2005 11:49 AM (GMT)
good idea but don't think we can spur enough demand for the manufacturer to print for us.. we are not talking about hunderds or decks but at least i think thousands.. if the manufacturer is willing then why not??

patented AC? hm... i don't really think so but i think we can check it online... i mean everything can be checked online, right???

imagine we can get quality bikes at RM3.50. wah...US is selling it at US3.95 i think we can sell it the same price but at RM...

ChongWei - July 31, 2005 12:42 PM (GMT)
Theres a china big company.. some sort of playing card manufacturer as well.. their card called "Yao Ji" some sort of USPC imitation, they use motobike instead.. but heard the quality sucks.. this company is earning BIG money ... fast growing co.

I think I saw somewhere Air-Cushion is patented tech. Not sure about L finish. Hmm.. then this means USPC monopoly the quality cards. Maybe we can make a variation like crisscross diagonally instead of straight and call it um.... Cross Texture Technology. hahaha.

ROTFL u get the whole point~!! Well, even , "kusion berisi angin" will work fine i guess, (it means AC in malay.. since no everyone malaysian here.. )

p/s : check the card case, and u'll see it says, the NAME of the finish is copyrighted to USPC.. if i have time..i'll check with the tech used as well...

Brendan Low - August 1, 2005 03:07 AM (GMT)
hehe... yeah... we can make our v own msian name. i kinda like the criss-cross finsih. :).... sounds kinda cool hehe

by the way, i have not really examine the AC and Linoid finish... to me they look the same... and feel almost the same (both can fan well).... anyone know the differences? is there such thing as which is a better finish?

dudes,

its a patented tradename or something like that.

Like Daihatsu's and Toyota's DVVT and VVTI (i think)
same thing, different name (i think again)

I vote to call our technology " macam kain punya"
for those who don't speak malay "feels like cloth" :D

I vote for TNGWTDBWTYSSIYBI.

Which stands for: There's Nothing Great With This Deck But We'll Tell You Sex Stories If You Buy It.

Peter - August 1, 2005 03:07 PM (GMT)
i also vote for TNGWTDBWTYSSIYBI....hahahaha

imagine someone wants to but it and he/she has to say "i want a deck which has There's Nothing Great With This Deck But We'll Tell You Sex Stories If You Buy It" everytime... its like "can i have There's Nothing Great With This Deck But We'll Tell You Sex Stories If You Buy It in blue and also a deck of There's Nothing Great With This Deck But We'll Tell You Sex Stories If You Buy It in red??"..... hahahaha.....

nice one dok...
