Title: How To Make A Tt ?

paulchin20 - July 31, 2005 01:09 PM (GMT)
Hi,

Has anyone ever tried making your own TT.
I have tried making my own but the end product is totally useless compared to the commercially available ones. They are either too soft, or, too brittle and breaks easily, and doesn't resemble the thumb. The materials I have experimented with are:

1. Liquid Silicone Rubber
2. Plasticine - set with nail varnish
3. Paper clay
4. Soft cardboard and brown masking tape

The commercial TT sold by the magic stores in Penang are of plastic - one place selling it for RM20 and he only has dark-skinned color tone, whilst another shop who sell light skin colored tone retails for RM30.

i'm pretty satisfied with my current vernet one, although i wish i had a larger tip so i can load a bigger silk. The colour is pretty close (i'm chinese).

vernet has a softer version too...maybe u'd wanna get that one.

Hi Rainking,

I already own a few commercial ones. It's just that I enjoy the challenge and fun of making things, hehhe. :D

hi
i glad to find some one here who have the enthusiasm to make stuff, I LOVE MAKING STUFF ALSO.
but my advice is tat, collect TT like collecting stamps..
go on enjoy challenge to make other props, dun get stuck making TT, really its a waste of time
its like experimenting how to make a solar powered torchlight.
maybe try make ur own d`lite, d`lite product range or ur own invention with dlites
such as u can make a chinese fan with LED`S ot the tip of each rib and lite up one by one, maybe try make a gimmick tat can light up ur ear, LED behind ur ear looks great.
maybe try make ur own misled, or maybe try modifying a light stik to a blinking wand...
