Gday guys,

As we know we are all from different parts of the nation... some from West and some from the East. But wat we have in common is we are MMF members and we love flourishes.

I know of some good flourishers in this forum and wonder if some of u would like to contribute some clips of ya flourishes and then send them to me or something for me to compile it into a so called MMF flourish vid. Im not v good at editing but will do my best.

I dunno.. this is just an idea to make flourishes ALIVE in this forum! I think its time for us to show our Malaysian magicians something that we love doing. Hopefully can get others interested in the ART. Ya clips does not have to be A1 standard but at least of reasonable skill.

Any inputs of suggestions, let me know :). Cheers!

Cool great!... so far two responded.

Anyway, i hope to get a vid by end of this month. All u gotta send to me is ya clip, with no editing. just the cuts/displays/fans/armspread... anything u wish u include in the vid. Not too many as i plan to just make it a short vid compilation, so only MAX MAX 2-3 mins.

Kam and Zhe Ming, if u can send to me by end of this month, that will be great. Then i will get it up by first week of September. Im still trying to learn how to use vegas... arh! lol

im.. jk. lol.. :D we use final cut pro in our campus but besides that i nvr try 2 use any others include window movie maker.. lol. final cut pro is xtremely complicated if u wanna make full use of it. im still learning.. aight.. will send u some in the next few weeks..

Final Cut Pro i heard is very good. There are a few well known flourishers using this software. Vegas itself is complicated too. looking forward for ya clips Zhe ming.

I haven't got the proper time but I'll try to contribute.

actually editing isnt that hard unless u wanna make lots of effects n edit to the beat. otherwise just insert a few transitions between clips n thats all.. ^_^
i believe the harder faster vid by kev took him sometime to edit, u notice how he edit to the beats. also, darly reloaded.. i cant remember others but thats the only editin impressed me. when is the last date u want our vids? i think so far r four of us.. so each person send u a 30 seconds vid?

i think i will just have v minimal editing coz i think that's the way to go with flourish vids. besides, i also dunno how to edit with vegas. but if u ask me to edit at win movie maker.. then i know more lol... but win movie maker dont have flash effects rite?

not really good doesnt mean that u cant contribute.. just show what u got as long as they are smooth. dont worry bout speed 4 now. i read this sumwhere by a wellknown magician.. 'speed is just the icing on a cake' . is that true?? im not sure..

well.. i dont think we need much special effects. this isnt a hollywood film.. unless u wanna make it looks like one. :D just make the clips run smoothly n if possile edit it to the beat n it will b great already..

Hm... this reminds me of something I thought about this morning.

Can't help as the only flourishing I do is the open hands type but without any cards ... but maybe I can do the "Ta dah!" sound effects everytime you flourish. I am good at that! :lol:

Hey, having Damn Straight in your videos is fine with me, as long as I get credit for it, and that the performer does justice to its name. Since its release, I've seen some videos/images of "Damn Crooked", per se. Makes me have explosive diarrhoea :P

CO4 will be pushed to next month for release, due to educational issues :D However, that means I have more time to work on the thing as a whole. Smoothness over speed ;)

I already got it down. But I don't like the opening and closing. Just working on making some adjustments to them. So, a little touch of mine on the move. ^_^

Show me please. I want to see how bad were they. I wanna see if I have anything to learn from these people's mistakes.

hehe yeah.... ive also seen some crooked DS moves in some vids before. It takes some adjustments and technique to make it DS!... lol

Abt adjusting moves to suit ya style.. i think its ok.... ive always been doing that all these while.. some times due to difficulties or due to impossibilities of some moves invented by someone, i would change a lil to it to suit my style. I only change like 10% of it only. So i cant call it my move as its 90% the inventor's move. Im just adding a variation or idea on it. that all...

I can't say it's my style. Just kinda not pretty looking for me and I saw there could be improvements to be done. No worries, I'll PM u guys the DS video when I'm done. I'm now trying to figure if I can have it back false yet maintain a nice closing.

The display is same, just opening and closing modified. So far, closing is optional, doesn't improve but as another option. Overexperimented. Right ring finger a little bit like almost papercut type of hurt. hahaha.

lol.. its normal that ur fingers hurt if u practise these kinda display too much. watelse u contribute other than kev's ds? can we have a list here or jst PM eachother incase if we have clashes.. i already PM brendan the moves that im gonna include in our vid. hopefully all of us can send our clips to him around 25 aug? so he have a week to edit.. ;)

yeah, btw we should also use different cards.

1) Jeff = red rider bikes
2) Me = either blue alladins or blue riders
3) Aerox = ??
4) Any others?

OTher cards u may wanna consider = league back bikes, tiger decks, tally ho circle, tally ho fanbacks, green bikes,.... many actually.

Blue or red it does not matter to me... its just that i got a nice red rider back to use. But since u are already using red, i think i wanna use blue. i just opened up a new deck of alladins... lol.. so so slippery. v difficult to handle haha...

will work on it.. fanning also a bit "cacat" haha...

I got unopened red or blue bikes. You can tell me to use any one. It seems I'm left with Blue to use if I understand the conversation that is going on here.

I actually meant the ring finger hurt one is more lasting heheh. Other fingers already adapted. ^_^

u still have lots of choice man.. u can use red tally hos, red alladins, or black deck red pips, red bees.. any red deck.. .. anything.. ;) its not 'I'm left with Blue to use'. u see? :)

zheming: I meant I only have red and blue bike decks with me atm. I don't want to use my old Bees though their easier to perform.

n i also think that if ur moves r less than say 20 seconds (excluding u squarin up the deck or u just holding the deck in perfect mechanics grip!), i believe it will make the vid looks bad. unless ur skill is like the virts which each of them only show 1 or 2 moves in their fourplay teaser.. ;)

he knows how to "cut clips" but hes still learing.. n thats y we have to send him our clips by 25 aug so he have 1 week to work on the 'editing' (is this the word u r tryin to say?).. u can try to give opinions if u wanna help :) opinions r always welcome.. :) im sorry that i cant help up as im too busy with my school works at the moment. nxt time i will.. :)

No offense. I mean as in cut off the beginning or back of the clip or split into two stuff. Coz I think I'll send raw unedited footage so there might be stuff you can cut out like beginning.

Jeff: I was planning to do everything in one rolling clip then decided to do different stuff at different venues for variety. ^_^

I will not be contributing, because my skills are very limited.

However, I hope to contribute some ideas.
