Title: Torn & Restored Card Effect
Andrew Loh - February 28, 2005 03:35 PM (GMT)
Hi folks,
I always fascinated by the effect of Torn & Restored one-at-a-time card.
Just would like to know folks, what are the version you are performing of this one at a time T&R effects?????
Guy Hollingworth's version wow, frankly is not really easy but the restoration is so visual.
That day, I was at MagicB's house and watch the 'unripped' DVD, wow the performer really blew me away as I saw his handling is so clean.
How about Yves Doumergue 'ripped & restored' DVD???? There are 3 methods or effects in this DVD, not so sure how's his handling of the T&R????
Best,
Andrew

There are many T&R effects out there. I heard abt FUSION as well as COLOUR FUSION. I beleive FUSION is v good and not so complicated as unripped which is almost impossible to do. The only thing good abt the DVD is that u will know the secret but u just cant perform it. just too much things to do. lol.

Hi MagicB,
Yeah right! Too complicated to construct the cards. But, will watch again as to really confirm how's his finished touch on this T&R effect.
Cheers,
Andrew

can u guys teach me?
i just love to learn at least one version of it..
i try my best to share wat i got.

Hi Eugie,
If you are interested to learn this T&R effect, get Guy Hollingworth's book, ' Drawing Room Deceptions', it's a good book.
However, to learn the effect alone, you have to spend at least a few days to really understand the handling of this effect.

Hey guys, my friend Huron has a T&R effect, "Fire in the Hole", which he is making a DVD for. Here's an old video of it demonstrating the effect:
Fire in the Hole demo-Card is signed on both the front and back
-Card can be given out and examined after the effect... in fact, they can even keep the damned thing.
-No switches.
-Instant reset.
-Virtually angle-free
-Very, VERY visual and memorable. The DVD'll be out in a few months, I guess... and it includes around 10 new T&R effects utilizing new methods and concepts.
Tell me what ya think ;)

WOW... cant wait for that.... keep me update on that DVD release.. btw, just wondering, for the "Fire in the hole" , is the card "fully" restored?
Kevin - March 13, 2005 07:22 AM (GMT)
Yes, afoi... the card is FULLY restored fiber-for-fiber, and can IMMEDIATELY be handed out for examination after the restoration. How cleaner can you get? :P

Andrew, if I were to list the names of the T&Rs, they wouldn't mean Jack to you... and even if I described them, they'd be generally the same:
"Performer tears card. Performer then restores it"
See what I mean? You just gotta watch the trailer when it comes out ;)
But yes, there is a BEAUTIFUL piece-by-piece restoration with a twist called "Making Ends Meet". VERY nice plot, ingenious handling. One of my favourites.
And as for the price... US$35 to US$40 for the DVD, depending on how satisified we are with the outcome :D
The DVD is still being planned out.

Considering the fact that the Snap Change sells on Penguin for US$5, I think you'll have to agree that 10 powerful and unique T&R effects are a steal for that price.

i have an impromptu torn n restored effect, but its not really that good.

I really like t&r effect. But drawing room deceptions just cost too expensive for me, its like RM 200 for a single book...
Andrew Loh - April 23, 2005 03:37 PM (GMT)
Hi kid,
Do you know this book is out of print (OOP) now??
If you have this book and maybe let's say few years time, the price can rise up to RM 500 to RM 800 just when this book is OOP and classified as a classic collection.
Yes, don't judge at the price, just get this book and you will not regret the effects contained in this book, very excellent and awesome.
If you don't have this book, you will regret! ^_^
The T&R card effects in this book 'Reformation' I love to perform this when I am fluent and can be performed smoothly! B)

Brendan Low - April 23, 2005 04:36 PM (GMT)

Cheers!

Hi folks,
No, my purpose is not only searching the reformation effect, but also Guy's other effects as well.
I like his oil & Water effects, Waving the Aces, his false-shuffle, etc.
Still haven't read finish yet, this book really keeps me busy on the reformation section. :P

Hi folks,
Wow! Just learned Guy Hollingworth's Reformation effects, holy moly, so deceptive and not easy to perforrm. But, once you get this, you are sure like to perform every time. :)
It took me 5 days to understand the whole sequences of the Reformation effect, but it's rewarding.
I will explore more and more T&R routines, very visual and I love T&R routines.
