Hi guys,

Just would like to know what card sleights that you think the most difficult to do?

I thus have these 3 so far:

1. Perfect Faro Shuffle
2. Bottom Dealing
3. Centre Dealing

How about you guys? Would love to hear from you guys!

Hi Mr. Number,

Yes, I would agree with you. DL until today there are so many magicians still feel dissatisfied the DL, I wonder and ask myself, if so, why there are sooooooo many version of DL available in many sources like ebooks, books, DVDs, videos, lecture notes, etc.

If I am not mistaken, I heard that there are over 100 version of DL which I read somewhere in the magic cafe a few years ago. :o

For instance, there are Ed Marlo's DL, Sonny Day's DL, Larry Jennings's DL, etc. Wow, those DL are not easy for me. ^_^

Oh well!

Cheers,
Andrew

For me, any sleights that I seldom use are all consider hard :
1) Bottom deal
2) Lateral palm
3) Mucking
4) .................................

>> DL
I normally like to use Strike DL, J.J.Sanvert's DL or just thumb count to get my DL.

As of now, I'm practicing to get my center steal flawless. It's really a knacky thing.

Mucking is a fun application too, and I don't think it's so much of practice as it's more of a knacky move, like snap change (angles, speed, etc).

As for DL, I usually use thumb count, snap DL, or push off. Whichever is more convenient.

Yes, card steal sleights also one of the difficult things to do. Side steal, centre palm and steal the card, wow, seems fingers may break. ^_^

Oh yes, recently I experimented a few faro shuffle effects, I can see the faro shuffle is one of the most strongest and the most useful shuffle we can do lots of amazing effects, basically locates the thought of cards by the spectators, etc.

But, well, it's not easy to do the faro shuffle, unless if involved with the stacked deck, we can know the card if we manage to cut at the 26 or not.

Would like to see your views guys. ;)

Hmm, i would think a perfect faro shuffle isn't as hard compared to sleights like bottom deal...for faro, you just need to get the knack or feel....once u get it, it'll be reasonably easy....
Whereas for bottom deal, or a pass, you have to work on the angles, timing...etc.

Eric,

Yes, the things is the feel, you are right but the problem is sometimes, cut to 26 is not as easy as I think and sometimes the cards are not interlaced properly. :(

This will slow down your performance when you have to recut the deck again or sometimes to adjust the card properly again.

I admire John Guastaferro the way he execute his faro shuffle, it just so smooth and fast when he performed his Claivoyance effect. :)
