LEE ASHER'S LECTURE IN SINGAPORE

VENUE: City BayView Hotel, 30 Bencoolen Street (please

TIME: 7.45 pm
FEE: $40 per head for non-IBM member, $30 for member.

Anyone interested? I thought maybe for those interested we can make a trip down to spore together. Wat ya think? its gonna be abit costly but common its LEE ASHER!!! lol...

I think u need to book, if not there will be additional charges if u purchase the tickets on the day itself.

Hmm.... I might join you guys.... but just for the sake of going to SG. hahaha. SG was cool. One complaint though, too many fashion clothes shops. There's even a couple of buildings full of these shops!

Asher is a great guy but I'm not as big fan as many others. So, I'll just allow those bigger fans to meet him. I'm sure there's quite a number of people who needs the slot for such limited capacity.

You'll get a chance to bring all your Lee Asher materials for him to sign.

Go there and meet magicians there, this is a good gathering which you can learn a lot of things from Lee Asher as well as Singaporean magicians.

Just came back from Lee Asher's lecture (in Melbourne)..
Lee's a very friendly...the lecture he conducted was quite informal and he really tries to get the audience to participate...

The stuff he taught were alright...he taught his famous Diving board DL and Asher Twist of course...but the 2 things that fooled everyone that night were his Losing Control & a trick called 'Deuce Bag' if i'm not mistaken...

He also sold his DVDs and booklets at a very cheap price...like, it's $30US in America, but he'll sell it for $30 Australian...(US1 = about 1.3 to 1.5 AU)....I think he'll probably do the same in Singapore coz the exchange rate b/w singapore and Aus isn't that different...

Very casual guy too...he was talking about how hot the air stewardess were on the way to Melbourne...

Pls do list more on what he taught. Names of effects and mini des of FX will do. It would help for those who are still considering and I'd like to see how much more has he came up with lately. :)

i can't remember the names of the effect..coz his effects have long names...

1. Some trick where he split a double backer into a 4 of a kind
2. Some moves which can be incorporated to ACR...one move where you can see the cards move slowly up to the top of the deck (not raise rise!)
3. 3 fly routine with poker chips
4. Diving double board DL...acrobatic & non acrobatic
5. "Joking around"...i think that's the name of it, where you sorta fold and tear/cut the card and it turns out to be shape of selected card.
6. "Fingerbox of death"....check out his website for demo of this trick..fun trick
7. Asher Twist
8. "Deuce bag"...Joker in transparent plastic bag changes into spectator's selected card
9. "the losing control"...awesome control to bring card to the top. Fooled everyone (i think) when he did it the first time

I think that's all if i remember correctly...Everything he does is in his DVD/booklets. So if you have most of his stuff, do not expect to be fooled.

I think some stuff he did was quite impromptu. Like Asher Twist, he just sorta asked if some of us wanna see it...then he started teaching. Basically you can request him to do anything during the lecture (i think). He also demonstrated a trick with a control he came up with called "Pulp"
