Hi. My name is Paul. Just got an invite to join from MagicB (I have no idea who he is) via a PM (Magic Cafe).

I'm old :D - early forties and got interested in magic about 4 years ago but only seriously about 2 years ago. Purely an amateur but enjoying myself.

BTW, my work commitments and schedule is such I have little time to visit the forum and post etc. but I will every now and then. I won't just be a lurker - will contribute what I can but as I am pretty new to this, it may not be much.

Always looking to learn and share what I can.

God bless!

Through a friend who is a professional entertainer and who sued to be in full-time Christian ministry.

Basically realised that I needed to explore and develop my creative side and magic was so attractive. Started with purchase of simple gimmicks (self working magic), and moved on to trying to discover creative ways to repackage / present them in "gospel magic format".

Then over a year ago moved up a notch to work on learning some basic skills and trying to understand the philosophy of magic (true art of magic) etc.

And yes I do perform gospel magic - have done quite a few shows -of varying lengtyhs and audiences in homes, in churches, even on the streets. My greatest thrill has been doing shows in Cambodia. However I still consider myself an amateur. So much to learn

I posted a bit of this experience in the magic cafe ... link below if you are interested ...

Yes I did enjoy myself - performing magic is great fun isn't it?

I actually do have some photos (as a friend did get a few shots) but I don't have a web site to upload etc.
If you are interested I guess I could send via e-mail - will try and lower the quality to keep the size smaller but unless you have broadband it would not be a good idea.

Hi Paul,

I totally agree with you, magic is a fascinating art. Not many people understand about this unique and wonderful art, isn't it??????

Yes, when I was young at 6 years old, I was stung by a BIG MAGIC BUG.

That's why today, I am still a magic bug. :)

I am sooooooooooooooooo crazy of magic, I think 24 hours a day for me it's not enough for me to explore magic books, DVDs, ebooks, practice, etc.

If someone really come to my house and see me perform or sharing magic knowledge with me, I will not tired if can, I can talk from 6pm until tomorrow morning, I will not tired if you have interesting stuffs to show me or fool me out the pants of me. B)

hahahaha will have to meet you one day. Trouble is I am so busy and as much as I love magic it is not my major focus in life. Other priorities have to take precedence. But I must say magic helps keep me sane and refreshed.

My hope is to be more focused in magic in 2006 once some of my many other commitments for 2005 are met (I am old so I am a little more mellow and patient  )

I am going to Cambodia again this year - 2 more trips so I do have a little excuse to send a bit of extra time honing my magic skills B)

Hey it is great having these "online / offline" chats with you. :!!:

Hi Paul,

:P - Yes! I also really in the hope that MagicB and I can meet you one fine day! Sure lots of fun of us to exchange something valuable in terms of magic, experiences, magic effects, etc. ;)

Would like to wish you all the best to you on your jobs undertakings. May everything you do smooth-sailing to you.

Cheers,

haha.... nice discussion going here. Yeah... there arent many magic crazy people these days but lots of people getting nto magic just for the fun and not really wanting to explore more abt it. They just stand stagnant after a while.

And abt work and family and other commitments in life, sometimes we just have got enough time for magic. At the moment, me still single but working and the only time i have with my precious cards are after work (at nights) and weekends.

I think once i start having family and all (say abt 4-5) yrs.... hopefully(hehe). i will have less time for magic as there are other commitments that will be more important. So while im still young and active, i wanna give my best in learning and doing the art. Perhaps all these will be passed down to the next generations.

It was good meeting Andrew as i can see that this guy is v similar to me in terms of having the magic bug in him that never dies. hopefully, we can meet u one day paul. Cheers!
