Title: Cigarrete Manipulations
Description: Anyone?

Brendan Low - September 13, 2005 10:07 AM (GMT)
Can anyone do cigarrete manipulations?

I dont smoke but i think its always great to take someones lighted cigerrete and manipulate it. All they will see is smoke coming out of ya hands. the cig is concealed. They will just go "wow dude... where my ciggy...."

I can only do without it being lighted. I think I learnt it from one of those ANDY magic cds... lol.... I once burnt my hand trying to do it lighted lol....

James, perhaps u can help me in that... :P. PM me or maybe can chat with u abt it next time i see u online on MSN.

Brendan,

>> James, perhaps u can help me in that...
Your looking for the right person, man...

I was having lunch with Jacky just now and he told me that he actually learned his cigarrete manipulation from James as well as he told me quite a number of great things about James.

For your information, Jacky is a famous manipulator in Penang especially in the 80's.

I don't smoke either so instead of using a cigarrete, I get a borrowed bill and roll it up and start manipulating it. Well, I do use real cigarrete or lit cigarrete but it's only when I'm requested to do so.

I do the "cigarrete" manipulation as part of my strolling performance. Well, you might worry about the angle problem especially in close-up situation but I often solve it by using my body to cover it and some misdirection.

Bill is a lot better than cigarrete because you will often get some surprise out of it - tips :D

Have been doing cigarette maniplation since I was 18 years old - that time started smoking already - hehe.

Point to note is that when a cigarette has apparently vanished - so smoke should come out of the hand concealing it. THe trick to prevent the smoke from coming out is this - whenever the hand concealing the ciggy is moving not smoke will come out - but when the hand is still smoke will come out immediately.

There are many ways you can palm a lighted cigarette without getting burned.

What is it you want to find out, Brendan?

Cigarette manipulation is a bit tricky - needs lots of precision timing.

The hand that is concealing the ciggy must be constantly on the move (but not too noticeable in movement) to prevent the smoke from coming out. A stationary hand that is concealing a lighted ciggy will emit smoke immediately.

There are many ways to palm a lighted ciggy without being burned.

Keith Clark's Encyclopedia of Cigarette Manipulation is the best book I would recommend. That was the book I got when I was 18 years old - gave myself excuses to smoke so that I can perform cigarette manipulation - I am still smoking now - what a good hobby.

Cigarette manipulation needs precision timing. Timing with the hand that is concealing the ciggy and timing of the vanish. When a cigarette is lighted smoke is the giveaway factor. So the hand concealing it must always be on the move to prevent smoke from coming out. When the hand stops smoke comes out immediately.

Cigarrete manipulation needs precision timing especially when it is lighted. You have to move the hand concealing the ciggy and smoke will not come out. Stationary hands will bring out the smoke.

Palming a lighted cigarette will not burn you. Using the right technique is important. The best book to learn from is Keith Clark's encyclopedia of cigarette tricks.
