Description: your worst purchase

ChongWei - March 3, 2005 03:06 AM (GMT)
had anyone of you feel disappointed by purchasing anything totally not what you want ? mine will be stuff from andy magic
LOL

Paul Long - March 3, 2005 04:01 AM (GMT)
Afoi

ditto lah

RM 100 bucks down the tube for the magic set - only worth while thing was brass rings (for the vanishing coins) but I could have bought it on is own for RM 20.

And the balloon sculpture videos was frustrating - hated the dubbing as well.

Jacksontks - March 15, 2005 03:20 AM (GMT)
haha...r u all talking about Andy Magic ?? i think so...em...4 me...i oso have sum disappointed about Andy Magic lo....not say it no good la...coz our level is difference already ma:) for beginner, it is good enough already...:) -_-

Andrew Loh - March 15, 2005 03:29 AM (GMT)
Yeah! Andy Magic is more towards to 'beginner magic'.

I assume you all folks here have quite some time with magic already so that your level also will be different, and of course you will impress to see something that more advanced to that. ;)

latest update on my side...
mind reading deck..... duh... i dunno WHY ON EARTH i'll buy it.. shit!!!

yea right.. "mind reading" deck... DAMN!

Brendan Low - March 15, 2005 04:06 AM (GMT)
haha... Andy magic.... lol...

I bought Jeff Mcbride Art of Card manipulation vol 2 and 3 from them but when i reached melaka and tested the vcds out, it was only vol 3a and 3b! I was so pissed off that they ripped me. I called them back and told them abt it and they say sorry they dont have that in stock anymore and that i maybe bring the cds back and exchange for another. But i know they dont have much in stock and if got also old lousy ones. not a good selection. Sumtimes i dunno if its worth it to go all the way back to the shop with my cds and exchange for another. sigh. lol...

anyway, i now have the complete vol 1-3 now from trading a fren:).

Alamak... what is this Andy's Magic you all talk about? A local magic retailer? He sells illegal VCDs??? :P

I think the worst trick I every bought was this I-Ching manuscript where you can actually play the role of an accurate fortune teller and prove your powers and skills, which can be checked by your client/ friend/ spectator through checking your prediction with any I Ching book available.

The usual or common routines and effects don't interest me (now, metal bending has become so wide spread i don't do it as much) so underground material like that interest me... that was maybe the most regretable purchase I've made from a local magic shop a long time ago... lol  I don't even remember the name of the trick!

Andrew Loh - March 29, 2005 03:54 PM (GMT)
Haha Ning, I am actually studying and researching the true art of I-Ching. It really creates powerful kind of predictions. :P - Sometimes, this scares me off!!!

Yes! Bending spoons nowadays are very common, I also don't like to perform this effect anymore. :(

I love some kind of magick that incorporate the elements of Mentalism and Bizzare kind of magick. That's will create the strong atmosphere.

I am currecntly reading an effect where an ordinary coin is held by the specs' hand, in a sudden, the performer can make the coin becomes hot until the specs can feel their hand really HOT.

There are many more and after reading the manuscript finish, I will review the manuscript. ;)

That sounds very much like Kenton Knepper... is it? ^_^

And yes, i've always been into the mystical arts... I have an ouija board as well, besides my tarot cards and crystals :P Anyone wanna buy my ouija board? maybe can use it to spook people... LOL. I only used it once and it scared me already!!!

ChongWei - March 29, 2005 04:29 PM (GMT)
feel that someone watching u from behind since then?? :ph43r:

Ning - March 29, 2005 04:39 PM (GMT)
no lah... the one and only time i did it, the pointer moved and answered questions astoundingly well... it was so accurate it was freaky and i'm so sure my friend wasn't pushing it! :ph43r:

Andrew Loh - March 30, 2005 01:09 AM (GMT)
Haha Ning, yes, that's right! It's Kenton Knepper!

BTW, Ning, are you an 'Aquarius' zodiac sign??????

Ouija board????!! - Wow! Ning! I am really impress your BOLD and DARING of handling those kind of things!

I am afraid this stuffs as I read some people sharing their experience of handling that kind of board.

Just keen and curious to know, are there anything spooky or freaky kind of things when you handle the board?????? :!!:

i bought a floating rock gimmick from a cheap novelty store. needless to say, the rock didnt float, and everyone could see how it worked. sheeshhhh.

Kam - April 12, 2005 05:20 PM (GMT)
INDEED stuff from Andy Magic... god damnit how desperate was I to get their copy of Jay Sankey's VCD!?!?!?!?!? And folks, never EVER touch their svengali.. no. It's a big NO NO. Very poorly made, and the box was unglued the first time i opened the box!

But the guy there is pretty skilled though.

And there's this one trick that still baffles me to no end... He holds three 10 cents inside each hands (he actually puts them on the table and pick them up one by one) and he says something in Chinese, then throws the coins onto the table. And you can see it as clear as the sun that he throws 4 coins from his left and 2 from his right. Picks it up again, now taking 4 into the left hand and 2 into the right. Throw it, and you see now it's 5 from the left hand and 1 from the right. Picking it up the same way again, and there's no more coin on the right hand; all the coins have gone to the left hand.

I'd love to learn that routine :) anyone willing to share some pointers or secrets? Please PM me. I'm willing to trade a trick or two!

Jeff Gan - April 13, 2005 01:24 AM (GMT)
isnt that a coins across routine?
