Gday people,
It seems tat there isnt many flourishers around in Msia? Am i right to say that? Prob not as many as there are in other countries like spore. hehe.

Anyway, i just wanna say that to be good in flourish takes lots of practice... more practice and dedication. u need to get ya hands into shape and exercise them regularly mucking around with deck of cards.

There are many vids and teaching materials out there to get u started. For beginner to intermediate level i would recommend CTG (great... well i dunno if its beginner or not coz i still cant do the whole routine...), showoff 1 and 2 & Capcuts. For the more advance ones.... get SYSTEM...

I hear that there are more flourish DVDs coming soon from the bests there are out there.... i cant wait.

For those who dont have the money to spend on DVDs, pls do check out Kevin's site. For those who dunno kevin, kevin is a vvvv skilled flourisher and magician in spore. You can go to his site and read more abt him. www.mredux.tk
It some flourish vids performed by him as well as some wonderful and most entertaining to the eye cuts. Check it out! Its FREE!!!! It is easy to follow if u know the basics.. but might be challenging if you dunno the basics.. hehe

Anyway, i hope i have stir up some interests in some of you who dont already do or wanna learn flourish. Hope to hear and see more flourishers in Msia.

first of all, wat cards u using? i hope it not local or super cant fan cards hehe.can u alsready a thumbfan?

ok.. to do pressure fan, just use pressure like when u are doin the spring.so the cards will push forward as u spring and twirl in ya left hand. its kinda hard to explain in words... better if can show u in vid.

Yeah right! MagicB. Sometimes, it's quite difficult to explain in words if compare to watching the vids.

I think for this kind of fan kind of stuffs, it's better to view the vids to learn more easier I think. ^_^

forrest go get some vids for pressure fan. im sure some beginneer vids would teach them. its quite basic actually. maybe oneday when we meet up i can show u. my pressure fan also aint that great... k hehe...

showoff...that's a ripp off man.

and i heard they do the moves wrongly and not nice. i dunno... i heard a lot of bad comments abt it.

its more quantity rather than quality teaching in it. up to u to decide. why learn and learn wrongly?

actually just curious... how do you say a move is done "wrongly" ? I thought everyone will have their own ways of doing the move by themself ? like.. if a people use their pinky to lift a DL, do u call that.. WRONG DL ? just wondering

coz in flourish... people will criticize and might say hey... u are doing the flourish wrongly... blah blah blah and people often will ask where u learn this from? and then when u say u learn it from someone else who has been performing it wrongly then.. they will just say... no wonder.

A lot of moves from the vid are taken from brian tudor's showoffs video and even Devo's flipback vanish was stolen! Showoff with cards has been criticized and talked bad abt since it first came out.

i mean yeah people may have different ways of doing the moves.... but why not do it correctly? hmm hehe..

I believe sometimes they say 'wrongly' can be he used the sleight in not the right time or it can be perform the sleight not convincing.

One example is you can read in 'Las Vegas Kardma' where he commented quite many magicians perform the Zarrow Shuffle badly.

I think here's the 'wrong' appear in my opinions.

Sleights and flourishes are different. SLieghts are a move used in magic... while flourish is for pleasing the eyes....

a wrong move in sleight may cause exposure and the magic is ruinn, while a wrong move in flourish may not be so critical as long as it is still smooth and pleasing to eye. hehe

I bet you are also an AWESOME FLOURISHER. Probably the best in Melacca, Singapore and maybe Batam.

i cant DL as im using dial up. And pls dont say i am so so ethical or watever when it comes to copyright.

i am not an awesome flourisher.. just a keen learner and want to improve.
