Title: Pasteboard Obsession
Description: My final vid for 2005
Brendan Low - December 5, 2005 12:55 AM (GMT)
G'day guys,
This is my final and last video for 2005. I've spent a good 2-3 days to film and edit the video. I didnt make the video v long, its less than 2 mins (thus missing out a lot of other moves). But i think personally that's how flourish vid should be. Around 2 mins. ;)
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy it man. Personally I think it's the best one ive done so far. ;)
Do give some contructive comments after watching. :D
Ok guys, ENJOY my final vid for 2005. :)

- Dan and Dave Buck
- Daren Yeoh

nice moves, nice editing, lighting was good.
constructive comments :-
- don't do it sitting down on your bed :) doesnt look very professional.
I like what the SMC guys did with the black long sleeve shirt against a black background. Only saw his cards and his hands.
hope it helped.
Brendan Low - December 5, 2005 03:43 AM (GMT)
Abt the thumb fan, yeah I've been practicing it trying to make it full and round :)
Some of the moves in there were some of my variations and some from other flourishers. So yeah...hehe..
Thanks for the comments casper :)
Cheers,
Brendan

Rainking, there are several ways and feel people like to create when doing a vid. Choice of music also creates the atmosphere.
Some people do it outside, some people do it black and white, some people like dark settings and black background... etc etc.
But for this vid, I just wanted the vid to be casual and relax, just doing flourishes as i normally would do in my room.
Thanks for the comment anyway.
Cheers,
Brendan

Aiman - December 5, 2005 03:45 PM (GMT)
i did post but i dont no how to comment coz i dont even do flourishes. to me i tot its was great.
Eric Liew - December 5, 2005 05:22 PM (GMT)
very skillful cuts indeed!..:) do all of them retain the top stock??
haha..anyway as what i said last night...good card skills and handlings, but poor choice of music! :P
I reckon a more 'extreme' song is more suitable...since u're doing "Extreme" card manipulation...
The song you used is more of a Guy Hollingworth graceful sorta stuff...
it's just my taste in music....but the card stuff itself is good! :)
Ignatius - December 5, 2005 05:34 PM (GMT)
Yeah, music was a little weird but good job! And yeh, sitting down was a little weird as well but whatever.

Hi Eric, some of the cuts are totally false, some retains top stock and some are non of the above.. lol.
hehe... choice of music.. hehe well... yeah its a matter of preference. As mentioned, in this vid I just wanted to create a relax and flowy feel to it and not wanting to have fast beats or loud music, something different to the typical flourish vids.
And to Aerox, thanks for the comment and er.. u expect me to do stand up and flourish? hehe.... Anyway, it's supposed to be casual. I normally sit on my office chair (bought from IKEA), but for this vid I sat on my bed... coz i wanted the bright blue sheets to be the background. :P
Cheers dudes!
Brendan

Well...........
...my sifu has done it again. Damn man... they look real nice. You have that Brendan flavor stamped on it. I like that ragnarok 2 done, you should make Mr. Ho himself proud :D Sorry for the late reply, you know how computer works...
Some constructive comments:
1. The music. Lol B what the hell!
2. Angles. I think that angles look nice for stuff like Madonnas and sybils, but not for certain others.
3. You know you are good with fans, you should show off some display man.
Overall, as I said, you've done it again.
isaac - December 11, 2005 04:26 PM (GMT)
Hi,
yahoo .. mr B done it again

two thumbs up :)
Nice Moves and clean cuts
Nice back ground
i love 4aces production
is so coooool .. teach me teach me
IMHO
like Kam said
music bit the too slow ..
make me feel kinda bored ..
also i notice ur card izit kinda used ?
i can see from the vid is kinda yellowish n old
or mayb is ur effect on the vid ??
ya the effect that make the card kinda "shine"
it make the move kinda blurrrr ..
that all man=)
all the best
Isaac
Brendan Low - December 12, 2005 12:33 AM (GMT)
haha.... yeah.... the cards used is a very old deck... vvv seasoned deck. super soft super great for springs actually....
hardly have the snap u want anymore... lol... but i decided to give it ago. It handles pretty well just cannot put too much pressure on the cards when doing cuts hehe...
Thanks for the comments kam and isaac. Im glad u guys liked it.
haha abt the music.... yeah.... WTH rite? lol... i need to start getting some cool music in my MP3 folder :P....
Cheers again!
Brendan
Jeremy Soon - December 12, 2005 02:07 AM (GMT)
the music sound fine to me, just that most of you are used to hot music when learning from flourish videos/dvd. I like the originallity of what you did Brendan, it potrays a relaxing mood while doing flourishes. as a whole it's great! something different :D
Brendan Low - December 12, 2005 03:57 AM (GMT)
hehe Thanks Jeremy :) Only few people have actually like the relaxing feel to the vid. haha...However, most flourishers are more into the hot and hardcore kinda music, but then again depends on personal preference. Maybe next time i'll try using some hip hop, rap or techno beats... :P
zhuanan - December 19, 2005 09:08 AM (GMT)
Wah, Brendan, you really have great fingers man....Guys, imagine "other things" which Brendan can do with his fingers....walao!!!!!
Brendan Low - December 24, 2005 03:08 AM (GMT)
hey zhuanan....
Thanks for the comments. Long time no see u in the forum. How u been?
haha... wah... somebody admire my fingers... lol. Wat else can i do with my fingers? well.... everything u can think of, I can do... lol. Its got a touch of magic to it. LOL. I'm useless without those fingers....
Anyway my next vid... dunno when...maybe sometime in Jan... or so hehe...
Sukyi - January 22, 2006 02:54 PM (GMT)

jamiekurtz - March 18, 2006 02:52 AM (GMT)
Brendan,
I absolutely loved your video!!! Your cuts were seemless and natural, I liked them much better than the guys that you credited.
Keep up the excellent work!!!
Jamie Kurtz
Brendan Low - March 18, 2006 04:55 AM (GMT)

Not bad, not bad man.
Pretty good stuff. :)
I wasn't too fond of the music used but it flowed with the video. It also looks like you've got the majority of the things you performed smooth, now let's go for more speed! :D
/\/\0r3_P0\/\/3R!... :!!:
