Hi folks,

Would like to know, is there any of you guys perform the appearing magic cane????

If so, is it you use the cane in steel or plastic ones???

And how much you bought for the magic cane?

i want i want...

im also interested how much they are.... i think its a cool thing to have.

Charlston - March 10, 2005 03:10 AM (GMT)
i have one, i guess its around RM 180 per cane..
a friend got it for me on his visit to aussie..
its metal,
and though some magicians says its better to have plastic because of lesser springing strenght and prevent OUCH! injury, I STRONGLY RECCOMEND A STEEL APPEARING CANE..
steel can be dangerous if not handle properly, because when collapsed, the energy release when it pops, the wide end can get u injured if kena.
but i bet u guys seen chow yuen fatt where he requested a HEAVIER dice cups in one of his movies.
same to magician..
Steel........
more class
more elegant
more weight
more FEEL
and........
MORE SYIOK!!!

Hahaha......... Eugie, that's is the lovely comments. :P

Yeah! If Japanese cane is more expensive I ever heard, it's sold around RM200 ~ RM 300. The metal cane will NOT RUST which manufactured in Japan. It's like in dark blue colour.

It's awesome but sadly, I never buy it as I am now nt into stage stuffs already.

Maybe I should own it as a collections. ;)

Fantasio plastic canes are of durable good quality and well, all magicians know the name :) The steel ones are more elegant but performers need to be careful when using them for obvious reasons ^_^

any one got any idea for using any canes??
i mean besides vanishing cane to silk, confetti, flower...

How about cane vanish and appearing doves or produce ropes???

I saw a Japanese magician performed at the magic castle using this concept, I just blown away and amazed his performance.

I think Lance Burton also did the same if my memory serves me correctly. ^_^

Hope this helps,
Andrew

There are many variety effect by using cane. If u are serious in magic, pls read more theory magic book. Don't just follow and copy other performer effects. most of the time it may not suit to u.

Now, let share with all a little cane info, if u r using fantasio cane (plastic cane), my suggestion and experience are pls use vanishing cane for color change, cover with silk hanky... or cover by your body movement and others... I skip to describe for detail, too many. if u wanna vanishing, transform... in front without cover, pls using metal cane. remember, pls don't buy cheap metal cane, otherwise u will be a bloody magician. HAHA. and learn how to handle and take care your cane..

Hi everyone ... aaahhh finally one of my favourite subject - canes - whether it is appearing or vanishing. I have developed quite a few original and unique routines with canes.

As for vanishing canes ...

Plastic vanishing canes from fantasio are good for colour changing and for turning them to silks. Their colors are nice but the only thing I don't like about them is their durability. After some time their contraction speed slows down quickly.

Metal vanishing canes are excellent for speed and only the Japanese metal canes are recommended by me. Any other canes - to me is a no no - it's because of the type of metal used that make them rust pretty fast and some magician suggest oiling them which is not advisable.

As for appearing canes ...

Don't use plastic appearing canes because they are too flimsy and artificial looking and wear out very fast too. Again I would recommend the Japanese metal appearing cane.

The reason for my recommendation - Ihave bought almost all kinds of cane - plastic and metal - from USA to Japan. And after using them for my shows, those that serve me well are the Japanese canes.

Oh, just to show off part of my collection of canes - I happen to have Japanese COLORED metal appearing canes (different colors) and they are considered limited edition canes. Those of you that came to my office saw the Japanese canes I have and I have to clean up the saliva from my carpet. hehe

FYI I am the only Malaysian having this collection because they is hard to find and very very very very expensive. If you happen to drop by and meet me fo teh tarik I can show them to you in my office.

There are countless routines you can perform with the canes - you got to mix them with other items to make them interesting.

1) Show a cane and turn it to a silk and immediately appear a dove from it.

2) Hold the cane in one hand and disappear it holding only in one hand - or turn it into a bunch of confetti (my emphasis here is holding the cane in one hand while the tranformation or vanish happens)

3) Hold the cane in one hand, with the tip of the cane flaming with fire and within seconds the cane becomes a silk and out comes a parasol from the silk.

4) Show a cane, then multiply them to four diferent color cane, place three of them aside and color change the remaining cane and then turn it into a candle and silk, using the silk to vanish the candle and a dove appears from the silk.

Jus a few examples of how you can develop your cane, candle, silk and dove routines.

And for the finale .... turn the fantasio vanishing cane to an elephant and then bow for the thunderous applause and standing ovation. hehehe

Want to know the secret ... hehehe buy me teh tarik lar
