Title: Any Card At Any Number

Anyone do this effect? I'm not sure if it falls under Card category or Mentalism :P I know 2 versions of this, but I have yet to see a real clean one. I saw Deddy performed when he came to malaysia for the first time... it really killed!

kamil.. whats the effect? can u describe a bit detail?
i think a memorized deck can do the effect?

To put it shortly: basically, the spec calls out a card and a number between 1-52. The spec deals the card to the number he chose from a full deck of card and he found his selection.

ok.. a M. deck which u aware of positioning of cards + thumb count + pass can do the effect...

Post: Edited to reduce exposure. Guys... if u want to reveal or tell someone how a trick is done, pls use PM. TQ -B-

Kamil,

If you are interested in this kind of effect, try to take a look at Paul Wilson's version, very direct but not easy to do.

Check out Barrie Richardson's book Act 2, he has his own version as well.

Also check out Euan Bingham's MDP booklet.

@ Andrew

I have Paul Wilson's Knock Em Dead DVD and in there he teaches a spelling effect which I think can also be applied to the Any Card at Any Number. The move basically is a variation the bottom deal (I've shown Brendan how it looks like). Not sure if this is the one you're talking about. Plus in this version, the magi deals the card, not the spec.

And yes, I've heard a lot about Berrie Richardson's effect. How practical is it? Is it gimmicked? I'm looking for the cleanest and most direct method there is.

@ Jack

Good thinking jack! But, one of the versions I saw is like this: The magician puts a blue deck of card in full view the whole time, and he also put a red card, both face down. The spec calls out a number between 1-52. Then the spec deals the card from the blue deck as many as the number he called out. Turns around the card to the corresponding number, and it matches with the red face down card. Everything is in full view the whole time. The magician doesn't even hold the deck anymore once the card's dealt.

Oh yeah... you showed me that effect when u came to melaka yeah... haha that's the day my tyre punctured... haha... good experience though haha..

Yeah kam, quite good trick. the move will look good if done well. But not easy to execute it well... though..

oh sorry man.. i thought the the terms will be censored automatically.. coz i always see some "star" in certain words like sv****** deck.. :P

hmm... i dont know how it was done, but if i really want to do the effect.. i will use a fo***d deck, of course need some switching maybe before or after the effect.. haha

Kamil,

Well, I am not sure Barrie's version coz I haven't read yet.

Normally ACAAN uses second or bottom deal, I haven't seen any version that works self-working or automatically.

If have, I would love to see it.

That's what I thought too! Man I swear it would kill everybody hahahah because laymen usually don't suspect that one deck of card can be full of the same cards. Or damn.. even sv****** deck could do the trick!
