Gday people.. below was my post at SMC b4 MMF was created. Have a read. lol.

I would just like to share my experience. For 2 years me been doing magic... im always called to do magic in front of all my relatives. i did it last year but it was simple triccks... and this year i was asked to perform again. knowing me.. i bring my cards everywhere i go man and thanks to Nick for the card clip. it surely is in full use!!!

this year, chinese new year is in Perth, Australia. of course new year eve we have dinner. big dinner with all the uncles and auntys from everywhere, close family friends etc. we all went to a fancy chinese restaurant etc to celebrate. i knew that after dinner...its going to be showtime and gambling at my aunts place, so i brought my card with me in my pocket.

dinner went on as ussual, chatted here and there etc etc.. then i went to other table (since u know we have more than one tables.. big family)then one of the aunty ask u the magician rite? then i said... er yeah... then she said "show us ya stuff" then i said yeah,.... maybe later... then she said show now la... then er... i said ok.... so i pull out my card out in a fashionable way... trying to do a opener,... but of course i did not do like wat devo did... i made it easier a bit coz my leagues were super slippery!!! kinda v new!. so while i was thinking of wat to perform... i did sum fancy cuts and it went ok i guess. then i started performing in front of the whole table abt 10 people on that table. i did the ACR (oz pearlman style)... and i executed it everything was like smooth man ( i was v suprised i handled the excitement and the nervousness quiete well.. lol). i did lots of the ACR moves i could think of abt 4-5 difff effects.... card shooting out etc... i received a massive applause and i was like wow... then all the table in the fully packed restaurant turned and looked at me. it was kinda wow man! seriously wow factor there.

then one of my uncles say u wanna see magic come to this table man.... blah blah blah... so the table next to us ( i dunno them), also big table, with white aussies and chinese all came and gather. my uncle asked me to do the same one to them since it was so good earlier.. then i said,... ermm nah nah its ok.. ill do another one...

i went on with the biddle trick (great trick), 4 ace trick2CM, etc.. then stopped there... wow.. all i can say is that its like the best experience i had with magic in front of so many people. Man, i should have gotten it recorded.... sigh lol. i was v happy and thank God that i didnt stumble much and everyone enjoyed the entertainment that night. Furthermore, suprisingly an aunty from the other table whom i dunno gave me an angpow and said to me thats a v impressive performance... i was like wow!!! again... super happy. i was like wanting to do more and more and more but controled myself and said nah should not coz i feel that if i did too many it will just be so normal and not magical anymore.

oh.. i also did a few rubberband tricks.. and my wat i call david copperfield trick with rubberbands (where the rubberbands just melts thru each other one strand at a time). its called crazy mans handcuff by the way... hhehe super nice.

Frankly, I would like to perform for female spec rather then male specs.

Male specs they seem like a bit ego.

While female specs, hoooooo, they are very different and cute (I mean their age between 15 to 27) This group I love to perform most.

In secondary school last time, I perform a few of my female friends, they are soooooooooooo keen and would like to watch more and more of my magic until they held my hands tightly.

I was soooooooooo blush :wub: at that time.

I believe that's the facts that female specs love to watch some magic if you can add some kind of romantic kind of elemetns in your magic.

Like floating a paper ross and transform become a real ross. I believe they will TOUCHED by your performance.

haha... thats a sure thing andrew... females... man... i love them too.. lol. they stick to u like crazy and want to see all u have to offer. sumtimes its hard to stop as u can see that they are so entertained with ya magic lol. but i often stop after 5 tricks coz after that if u keep on doing... it may be a bit boring already. u wanna save other magic for next time. no use showing all now then left nothin to show next time.

i agree totally with u andrew that guys can be a bit ego and dowan to be fooled especially in front of gals man, or even their gf. coz sumtimes magicians catches the gf's eyes and that makes the bf jealous or sumthing, thus he will try to hack or spoil ya magic. i mean im sure this is only a v small group in our population.

i have performed to couples and singles.... and 70% of the time i get good audiences. those 30% i will just finish the magic and walk away.

yeah paper floating rose is just so great. i have to do that one day man. wait till i find a good opportunity and then ill do it lol. flash paper burn and swoosh a nice red rose for u. :wub:

I don't know how to express my joy, you see my female friends when we meet at school or outside, they will like soooooooo excited to see me and say "Hey! Andrew, show some of your stuffs, I love to see you perform magic, it's kinda boring here" and that's the same questions or joy each time we meet or coincidence meet together.

Female specs can become crazy of you when you can entertain them deep into their heart if you are using some romantic patter or any shows about Romeo and Juliet patter (sad stories), etc.

THEY REALLY LOVE THIS KIND OF ATMOSPHERE!

Sometimes, they will feel sad (how clever you are to control their emotions) if you can use some of your effective patter (Romeo and Juliet).

If challenging ones, I use Ninja (2 black Jacks) and Samurai (specs' selection)patter in Guastaferro trick 'Lost & Found'. The 2 ninjas put on top of the card box and I would say the 2 ninjas climbing on top of the trees to assasinate and planned to kill the samurai, I would say the transparent wallet is a magical portal for the samurai to escape which chased by the 2 ninjas, etc. Build some suspence! :)

Overall, it's important to suit your patters and needs.

I think one of the most addictive part of doing magic is getting good reactions. If not for that it's just another bedroom hobby. I think I need to buff up my arsenal and perform more too :)

About the patter, thanks, :) - I think this will come naturally to you of your patter when you perform the card magic.

I am interested to discover you folks patter as well in certain card effecs.
