this is my 1st week in KL and on the 7th of january, i decided to go to pudu and timesquare to have a look...i went to pudu at 1st...



new magic centre: the products are cheap(when compared to magic ring)but the demostrator is kind of agressive and to be honest, i'm completely uncomfortable with his style...when i ask for mental effects, he told me to get vcds for rm 60.... thought t's kind of cheap BUT it's pirated...WTH u want me to pay 60 for a pirated disc~~he sure earned a lot man~~when i ask for the original, he says there is no original in asia...i replied that i bought my original copy from singapore he says it's confirm pirated even when he never seen my copy before..read some psychology books to be more persuasive lar
next i went timesquare magic ring:it's a wonderfully pleasant experience..the demostrator are super friendly and they are willing to demostrate the effects for me...i'll for sure visit them again...they are a bunch of really cool and young performers...magic ring...i think sooner or later they will monopolised the market if they are willing tolower the price tag a bit :P

it's kind of obvios to me than which one i'll go and pay a second visit

I thought Magic Ring sells pirated dvds?

yea i heard of it before but the demostrators are a lot nicer...or i should say i say i feel more comfortable when i'm with them

well, there r some of magic ring's dvd's that are original... take example i bought peki's art of levitation... it was original... came with some stupid i.t... anywayz, i go there every week... i think u guyz noticed they sell viper decks there rite? its goin for rm 50... i booked one there already.. its goin fast...

hmm...so it seems MR is not selling ori too.. but its the same price as the one in pudu. but diff production type. hihi. but u need to join in as member. futhermore, u're limited to only choose from either "best of the best" o from IMF collection. vincent, cant we take other dvd combitnation besides just from that two choices? really hope that we can lo...mayb u can consider abit there?

HI Adriank, nice to hear feedback from u. Let me intro myself a little,I am not Magic Ring staff and I am a good friend to the owner Mr.Leow. I am currently now running the club on behalf of him after the previous guy has been terminated.
As for your request regarding the the membership and the IMS DVD, actually I am sorry to inform u that we dont allow member to choose others title, but do u know that for IMS dvd,there are 3 different set for u to choose from. If u to order it fr interner, it cost u more than RM300. As for the membership, u have nothing to lose as the membership is life time. Plus u be entitle to attend events and lecture for a very special rate. For example, next month Magic Ring gathering on the 26th Feb, all members are invited and it is free...show and hi-tea will be provided.
So,maybe u would like to consider about it and do drop by if u do have any suggestion.

Just forgot to inform u that beside Magic Ring, you can opt to join AMA (Asian Magicians Association) for RM50. Will let u know more about it later. Thanks and cheer pal!

Yes, the forum's policy is to keep all pirated materials and the encouragement out of the site. It's one thing to sell or trade whatever anyone has in their possession, but it's another thing to actually condone it. I have edited out your posts.

Well, let us face the fact, we are all living in Asia country, so pls tell me which country are clean from piracy? If you can say that u never buy any piracy before, can be either movies or computer software, all the software in yr PC, from Window to Office are all original with licenses? U never downloaded any songs over the net? Did you ever burned your own mucis cd?
If u never done anything like that before, therefore I would like to apologize for that but if u did, then u are nothing different from a hipocrate, like a kettle calling the pot black.

Generally I believe we are all adults here,so when you walk into any shop especially selling softwares, it is your choice to choose to buy the original or pirated copy. you're right, I belive everyone here bought pirated stuff before , and still doing so.. but, the point here is, we dont "promote" pirated stuff here, its like, signin up in microsoft forum and ask people goto lawyatt buy the pirated installer.

this is a more healthy magic forum, thats why we're trying our best to ask/practise, getting original one.

Vincent, maybe you can ask your boss to signup and be Ellusionist's authorised dealer? and get stuff at cheaper rate (and original) ? I'm sure member over here will willing to pay...

Before we start on another topic and long rant regarding piracy, I would like to thank tleong on admitting the faults that Magic Ring sells pirated materials. Piracy is bad, its common sense. Right now, the GOOD and BEST move that Magic Ring is doing is to sell pirated DVDs at a high price.

Why good? Like I said, piracy is NEVER good. But selling pirated items at a higher price will still keep the secret of magic sacred. I hope that Magic Ring would not lower the price of the dvds just because they're pirated. Keep it that way.

A Malaysian minister once said that if only there was a legal factory in Malaysia producing pirated materials, we'd have a great and stable economy...

This is a recommended step.

Anyway, piracy will NEVER stop. This post is just so that the art of magic will not be HURT by piracy. So to Magic Ring, if you gotta sell pirated stuff, keep the art alive and protect it well...

Thanks guys for all your reply. Well, it seem like no one can please everybody.
So it is up to all of you to decide what price to pay when u decide to buy any magic props or DVDs as nowdays everyone can access and order directly thru internet. Magic Ring will do our best to cater to every magician needs.
I already wrote to Ellusionist regarding the authorized dealership so for time being, I am just waiting for their reply.

To Joe, Magic Ring will never lower it pricing. We only honour 10% to all members and 20% during our annual sale. Thanks for your support.

And to all MMF members, do let me know what really interest u so that I can get the owner to bring in more of that item.

u selling pirated DVD's is fault but there have many problems than this like :

1 : pirated single layer disc , i using 3 laptop and one dekstop computer to watch the DVD's that i buy from MR , it will stuck half way ! Even i using the DVD player it will lagging

2 :Price exspensive ? actually ok ok , if u think u r buying the secret not the DVD's oni

3: not include any gimmicks together with some DVD's like micheal ammar card miracles they came along with gimmick if u buy ori

I dun mean any offend on the product BUT I hope Mr. vincent will take a good care on this , i buy pirated DVD's too it depend sometime . But i just wan to utilize n satisfy with it much more oni .

For example like i buying a potato chips , it label 250 gram but actually the chips oni 50 gram n the rest 200 gram are air ! That wat customer want it !

If you found some DVD video hard to read, you can copy the [VIDEO_TS] to your HDD, if you still hard to read and lagging because they did not remove the CSS protection.

Well, I believe as a consumer, you have your choice to choose what to buy and what not to buy.You have the choice to buy the original Guess jean or the imitation pair but when u buy imitation, then do not complain as you are not paying for the original price.So from now on, you better start buying all original softwares and licenses for your PC Windows.

Pirated products are wrong, that goes the same to speeding on the road, smoking in shopping malls, having xxx before married, drink & drive and etc. It makes no different.

Thanks for your concern.Consumer is the one who choose what to buy and what not to buy. If you choose to buy a pair of jean, how often you will wear it is depending on you so it is hard for anyone to measure satisfaction in this situation.

When you buy a music cd, it stated there are all together 16 songs. If you get less than 16 songs,then only it is call cheating.

How you know the mention DVD brought from MR are pirated? I never buy once from MR.
If I am cyber-cop, I think I have to do some action against MR and also to you integra.

I think it is really a serious problem when you speaking purchasing or selling pirated stuff without sinful. It seem so normal to malaysian but remember this is an open forum. Think twice when you guys post, ok? You get what I mean?

Just letting you guys know and no offense to both of you.

PS: integra, I solve your problem because it do happened to my genuine DVD. I take me 1 month to solve the problem.
